Before you install
VerseBeamer uses AssemblyAI to turn speech into text. Create an account at assemblyai.com and copy your API key from its dashboard; VerseBeamer asks for it the first time it opens. AssemblyAI charges for speech recognition under its own pricing and terms.
The key is stored encrypted on your computer. While listening is on, audio from the selected input is sent to AssemblyAI to be transcribed — see our privacy page.
Installing
- Download the installer and open it.
- The installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” with “Unknown publisher”. Click More info, then Run anyway. To confirm the file is genuine first, compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one shown on this page.
- Follow the installer. VerseBeamer starts when it finishes.
- In the Welcome window, choose the audio input, paste your AssemblyAI API key, and pick the Bible translation and congregation screen.
